Chalkle iPhoneography course was a lot of fun

On April 10, 2013 I lead my first iPhoneography Chalkle class. What iPhoneography is in essence is using your iPhone as a serious compact camera. We spent the first hour at the Toi Poneke Hub discussing tips and tricks for getting the most out of the camera, including using photography apps for capturing the best results and processing them through sharing online.

Here is a list of the recommended apps (subject to update in future classes!)

  • Camera+ (this was my personal favourite discovery – great to edit your photos in your phone and easy to use!)
  • Hipstamatic (or Instagram)
  • Cross Process – very simple to use
  • Lo-Mob – film effects, lots of options to play with here
  • ScratchCam – create an old scratched up effect for you photos
  • Snapseed – more filters
  • Filterstorm – not cheap, but like Photoshop with heaps of features
  • Big Lens – create short depth of field, or out of focus backgrounds

The class assembled prior to heading out on Cuba Street and do a photo-walk
