I’ve wanted to photograph Will, who works on the front desk at Toi Poneke Arts Centre where my studio is located for a while now. I asked him and he agreed- it took a long while to find a time that worked for us both. It was even a rush on the day, was meeting a friend Chris to help him approach photographing a wedding which he’d never done before. Chris ended up tagging along on the shoot as we ran out of time. The shoot took place in the alley way beside the centre, and in front of the local church next door. I used a combination of long lenses and primes to get a shallow depth of field. All were shot in natural light, which was perfectly overcast and soft.
