Last week, I was working in secret photographing areas of the city which are possibly going to radically change. Porirua City Council have announced plans to revitalise the city centre in what I think is a smart and bold move. They are creating a corridor through from the current centre (under the big canopies) to the train station. In the process creating the possibility for a plaza area with cafes and retail similar to what the Wellington waterfront has become. I salute the Porirua City for rethinking the strategy and coming up with a completely new approach to what their downtown can become.
