Wellington Town in use as a function venue

I was commissioned to photograph the Wellington Town Hall set up with the AXA Gala Dinner on Wednesday 25 January 2012. The Theme was Paris Cabaret with a variety show. The hall was decorated with a red carpet and large screens at the end with the pipe organ. The colours of the theme were red and black. The lighting was gelled with a deep red wash which threw the whole space into a rich atmosphere with lots of shadowing and deep rich tones.

The show was cool, the dancers from Candy Lane Studios consisted of about 5 women and two men who did a variety of  acts all along the French Cabaret style culminating in a lively and a little naughty style Can-Can. The whole event was tied together with a ringmaster style MC complete with turbin and extremely pointy red shoes + pointy beard and moustache.

My job was to record the atmosphere of the space and lighting. When awards were being presented, a random series of spotlights went around the crowd which I quite liked- it gave an excitment to the space and moment.
