Environmental Portraits: Two brothers photographed on the beach

As a prize for a competition run by the Dowse Art Gallery, I donated family portrait photography as the prize. It was an honor to be asked – I also love working with the Dowse and am keen to help them whenever I can.

We decided on the beach as the scene and then arranged to meet on a Sunday morning at Breaker Bay. As its a nudist beach, I was relieved that no sun seekers were out that early. The boys are quite active which I found to be great- pretty much letting them have fun and providing prompts, suggestions for other things to do and some direction. What I liked was that as we went along, the boys suggested ideas and options for photos. View all photos from the shoot here.
