Wellington Cityscape

The weather was just awesome today- one of those rare Wellington days where the winds are slight and the sun shone all day. In the morning I met with another photographer and possible assistant, then had brunch with friends at the newly refurbished and opened Maranui Cafe in Lyall Bay. I drove with my sister and visited my nephews fishing, and looked out at a glimpse of the cityscape around the corner of a headland. It planted a seed of an idea. After dark, I grabbed my camera gear and tripod plus my youngest nephew and went to Oriental Bay. It is a spot where you get a great view of the harbour and city. Marco managed to get a couple of shots of the city too- I put the Nikon D3 onto live-view mode and we composed his shots together- then I told him how to focus and shoot. For his shots, I even got into the frame so there was no dispute that he pulled the trigger.

This shot is one of mine- Marco is visible in the foreground looking out over the view…
